Holiday Cheer

Can't help but get into the spirit of the holidays as soon as Thanksgiving comes around. It makes the oncoming Winter exciting (before it's no longer fun). Every year we negotiate a tree. We've carried the tree on the subway, sometimes with 3 of us and plastic bags on our hands to avoid sap. Sometimes we get it for $50 and sometimes $80. It's not easy in NYC but that's what makes it special.

This year was extra fun to pick up ornaments and garland at Dollar General and have our son smell the needles for the first time before decorating together. After day one, several ornaments are hidden around the house, the rest remain at the very top of the tree, we have to constantly be on him not to touch or put the lights in his mouth and forget about watering this tree. Oh joy!
