FAQ

Pre-session

When should I schedule a session?

Spring, Summer and Fall are popular times of year. I suggest shooting within 2 hours of sunrise and sunset for natural light outdoors. But I’m flexible and will work with you and your schedule.

When do I schedule a newborn session?

My suggestion is to photograph newborns between 1-3 weeks or a fresh 48 hours (usually at the hospital for a maximum of 30 minutes) but I'm flexible. Newborn sessions can last up to 1.5 hours, in your home where you are comfortable.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

If you need to reschedule, we'll find a new session date that works for both of us at no charge. I do ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit to hold your date.

Would you travel for a session?

Yes, I love to travel and explore new, amazing places. Depending on distance, there may be an additional fee.

The session

What can I expect during the session?

A fun experience of playing and hanging out while capturing the emotions of the moment. I shoot on location at your home, neighborhood, in a park or a fun urban location that allows for some playtime.

How long is a session?

Sessions usually take 45 minutes to 1 hour for full family, 1.5 hours for newborn, 15 minutes for a mini session, and 20 minutes for headshots.

What should we wear?

Texture and layers are always fun. I would avoid loud patterns, logos, characters, writing and noticeable graphics. A pop of color is nice in the Summer/Fall and muted earth tones are nice in the Winter/Spring. One wardrobe change is also doable if you'd like variety.

Should we bring anything with us?

A blanket and any special toy/prop that is fun for you (a stuffie, bubbles, balloons, balls, chalk, numbers, etc.). It's also a good idea to bring snacks for the little ones and wipes.

How do I prepare for a newborn session, do I need anything?

I try to keep it as stress free as possible and work with or around feedings. The idea is for you to relax, enjoy the moment and to have photos that remind you of that moment in time.

What if it rains?

If the weather is not on our side, we'll either move the shoot indoors or reschedule. I'll contact you a day or two before our session if weather looks bad. I tend to mostly use natural light.

Post-session

How soon can I see/download the photos?

Images will be uploaded to your private online gallery within 3 weeks of the session.

How many photos will I see and get to keep?

I select and edit the best images from our session. You receive them as high resolution jpeg files. For mini sessions, you receive a minimum of 5 images depending on the package selected. For full sessions, you receive 50 images at minimum but the average is usually 75-90.

What if I'm unhappy with the photos?

I want you to love your photos. If you are not happy, I will work with you to make it right.

Will the images be in color or black & white?

You will receive your images in a combo of color and some B&W.
